Genius behind Polo

Building a fashion empire takes a lot of hard work. Many people have plans to build, a major fashion company but don’t follow through with their goal. But theirs one man that did, and his name is Ralph Lauren founder of the fashion empire Polo.

Ralph Lauren was born on October 14, 1939, in the Bronx New York. Ralph’s birth name was Ralph Lifshitz. Lauren is an American fashion designer, philanthropist, and business executive. Many people know about Ralph, because of his Ralph Lauren Corporation clothing company Polo.

Polo is a global multibillion-dollar enterprise. Lauren also has a collection of rare automobiles, many that have been displayed in museum exhibits.

Growing up Ralph attended a day school. Followed by an Academy. The academy is called the Marsha Stern Talmudical Academy. Lauren graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School in 1957. Ralph’s heroes growing up were John F. Kennedy and James Stewart. Under Ralph’s picture in his year book he stated “I want to be a millionaire.”

Ralph sold ties in the small shops of New York, when a major turning point came when he was approached by Neiman Marcus, who brought 1,200 ties.

In 1967, Ralph Lauren opened a necktie store, and sold the ties under his label “Polo.” Later Ralph received the rights to use the trademark Polo. The Brooks Brothers gave Lauren his trademark rights for Polo. Ralph’s net worth is 6.4 billion.

Ralph Lauren wife’s name is Ricky Anne Loew-Beer. Ralph has two sons, one daughter, and a nephew. Lauren’s daughter name is Dylan Lauren. Ralph’s two son’s names are David Lauren, Andrew Lauren, and nephew Greg Lauren.

Andrew Lauren is a famous film producer and actor. David Lauren is a senior Vice President, advertsing, marketing, and corporate communications at polo headquarters. In September 2011, David married Lauren Bush, the niece of former President George W. Bush. Dylan Lauren is the owner of Dylan’s Candy Bar, which claims to be the largest candy store in the world. Dylan’s candy bar store is based in New York City.

Ralph Lauren co-founded the Nina Hyde Center, which represents Breast Cancer Research at Georgetown University in 1989. Ralph was the driving force behind the annual Fashion Targets Breast Cancer campaign which launched in 1994.

Also in 2001. The Ralph Lauren Company launched the Polo Ralph Lauren foundation to support various charitable initiatives around the world, including the New York- based Ralph Lauren Center. The center is for Cancer Care and Prevention. Lauren also created the “Pink Pony Fund”, which is a worldwide initiative in the fight against cancer. In 2014, Lauren had become partners with The Royal Marsden NHS foundation Trust, to fund a new state- of- art breast
