If you are into Opera you won’t want to miss the Bay-Atlantic Symphony. They perform on Saturday, November 5th at 8:00p.m. They are opening the season with selections from “The Marriage of Figaro”, performed by five soloists from Opera Vivente. It will also be followed by one of Mozart’s most beautiful and renowned symphonies, “No. 36, Linz.”
The Odd Couple
This is year’s major event is “The Odd Couple”. The play, produced by Neil Simon, is a hilarious comedy, and was a broadway hit for years! The plot involves a neatnik, Felix Unger, who tries living together with a sloppy Oscar Madison. Although they have their differences, and go through many comical hardships, they realize that friendship can overcome anything. This production has been entered into the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival. This is the school’s biggest play of the year and the actors and directors at CCC never disappoint their audience. Come out and share some giggles supporting and enjoying the student’s main event of the year! The play runs from Thursday, November 17, to Sunday, November 20. Thursday-Saturday the show starts at 8:00p.m., and at 3:00p.m. on Sunday.
Evening of Scenes and Monologues
On Thursday December 8th at 8:00p.m. there will be performances by the glorified Deborah Bradshaw’s advanced acting class. There will be an awesome variety of various scenes and monologues performed by CCC’s seasoned actors. The icing on the cake for this event is that tickets are free! However, seating is limited and you must first obtain a ticket and then your seat will be assigned. Don’t miss the opportunity to witness the talents our students have to offer. The variety is a fascination in itself, and is directed by an amazingly talented director; Deborah Bradshaw. Grab your tickets at the box office in the Fine and Performance Arts building before you miss this free night of entertainment and a riveting performance!
The Messiah Sing-Along will take place on Sunday December 11th at 3:00p.m. You can sing along or just relax and listen to Handel’s beloved masterpiece. Solo arias will be sung by professional vocalists and will be accompanied by a chamber orchestra, plus an on-stage chorus of approximately 60 voices. Sing-along with the chorus as the conductor leads you in favorites such as “For Unto Us a Child is Born,” “Glory to God in the Highest,” and the magnificent “Hallelujah Chorus.”
Music scores will be available to borrow at the door. Tickets: $10 for all ages.
Join students of CCC Theatre Arts and Deborah Bradshaw’s musical theater class on Wednesday, December 14th at 7:00p.m. as they take to the stage for an evening of enduring Broadway musical classics. Tickets are free and required for entry. Seating is limited and must be assigned.
This program will be held on Saturday, January 28th at 8:00p.m. and features Dvorak’s folksy and elegant Serenade for Strings. Mendelssohn’s masterpiece, Sinfonia No. 7, will be featured as well. This piece is filled with counterpoint, soaring melodic lines, and youthful spirit. Delight in New Jersey composer George Walker’s most celebrated work, his Lyric for Strings, plus Edward Elgar’s Serenade, op. 20, in E minor. Tickets are $25 for Adults, $20 for ages 55 & over, $10 for college students and ages 17 – 12, $5 for ages under 12.
